Call for Conference: Japanese Studies in Türkiye Conference 5

Dear Faculty Members and Instructors in the Field of Japanese Studies,

The Japanese Studies Association and the Boğaziçi University Asia Studies Center, with the support of the Japan Foundation, and in collaboration with the Ankara University Department of Japanese Language and Literature and the Ankara University Asia-Pacific Research Center, are pleased to announce the “Japanese Studies in Türkiye Conference 5: A Century of Turkish-Japanese Diplomatic Relations,” to be held from September 6-8, 2024, at the Boğaziçi University Nafi Baba Building.

Our previous conferences held in 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 have provided a platform for university faculty members conducting original research in the field of Japanese Studies to present their work, engage in discussions, and exchange information, thus contributing to the development of Japanese Studies in Turkey. This year, we aim to create a similar environment.

Important Dates for the Conference:

- June 10, 2024: Last day of application

Academics who wish to participate should fill out the form below by Monday, June 10, including their name, surname, university-department information, topic title, and a short abstract in both Turkish and English, and indicate their accommodation needs in Istanbul.
