Professor Huricihan Islamoglu was interviewed by Birikim Dergisi on recent developments in Afghanistan. We present you with that interview together with an article by Professor Islamoglu, "Afghanistan: Development against the odds" published on March 28, 2019 on the website of Gateway House (Indian Council on Global Relations) Mumbai, India. Professor Islamoglu teaches in the History Department and the MAAS Program at Bogazici University. Among her works are: "Huri Islamoglu and Peter Perdue, Shared Histories of Modernity in China, India and the Ottoman Empire; H.
