Workshop
The workshop will be held in Boğaziçi University with the participation of Fletcher School and Asian Studies Center, Boğaziçi University. This program is open to Master in Asian Studies (MAAS) students and Fletcher School Graduate Students only.
Participants
Arik Burakovsky is Assistant Director of the Russia and Eurasia Program at The Fletcher School. His research interests include the role of the media in international politics, public and elite opinion, soft power, public diplomacy, and U.S.-Russia relations.
Monica Toft is Professor of International Politics and Director of the Center for Strategic Studies at The Fletcher School. She is also a research associate at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford and at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
Ivan Arreguín-Toft is an Associate in the International Security Program at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science & International Affairs. His areas of expertise include asymmetric conflict, strategy, international security, international relations theory, international humanitarian law, Russian foreign policy, gender and war, strategy.
Volodymyr Dubovyk is Visiting Professor at Tufts University and Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations and Director of the Center for International Studies at Odesa I. Mechnikov National University in Ukraine. He is co-author of Ukraine and European Security (1999) and has published numerous articles on U.S.-Ukraine relations, Black Sea regional security, international security, and Ukraine’s foreign policy and security.
Selçuk Esenbel is Emeritus Professor at Boğaziçi University, Department of History and Academic Coordinator of the Asian Studies Center. Her areas of expertise are Japanese History, Japan’s Foreign Policy and Turkish-Japanese Relations
Asım Karaömerlioğlu is Professor at Boğaziçi University Atatürk Institute and Lecturer at MAAS Program in Boğaziçi University. His areas of expertise are 20th century Marxism, Economic History and Russian History.
Onur İşçi is Associate Professor at Bilkent University, Department of International Relations, Director of the Center for Russian Studies and Lecturer at MAAS Program. His areas of expertise are Russian History, Russian Revolution and Turco-Russian Relations.
Altay Atlı is Associate at the Asian Studies Center of Boğaziçi Center and Lecturer in the MAAS Department and Koç University. His areas of expertise are Turkey’s relations with Asian countries and the economic dimensions of Turkish foreign policy.
