JICA Chair Program

As Boğaziçi University Asian Studies Center, we participated in the JICA Chair for Japanese Studies program, which was newly established by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The aim of the program at this stage is to give lectures-lectures on Japanese modernization by competent Professors from Japan in Japan-related courses. In the continuation of the program, the Center for Asian Studies aims to be more involved in the JICA program with the support of printed resources and mutual projects.

In line with these goals, the First "Japanese Studies Chair Lecture Program" conference was held at Boğaziçi University Özger Arnas Hall on 9 December 2022 in cooperation with Boğaziçi University Asian Studies Center, Department of History, Japanese Studies Association and JICA.

Professor Matsuda Koichiro met with Boğaziçi University students with a talk called "Intellectual and Social Aspects of Modernization in Japan" within the scope of the event.
